Bright, Smooth & Refreshing
Okumidori First Harvest Matcha is a smooth, vibrant and refreshing Japanese matcha crafted primarily from the Okumidori cultivar, lifted by Samidori as a secondary cultivar.
The result is a refreshing first harvest matcha with gentle umami, natural sweetness and very low bitterness. Best enjoyed as iced usucha, straight iced matcha or a refreshing iced latte.
Cultivar
Okumidori is the primary cultivar in this matcha.
It brings smoothness, balance, fresh green depth and a clean refreshing finish.
Samidori acts as the secondary cultivar, adding softness, brightness and a delicate elegance.
Taste
Smooth, bright and refreshing.
Expect fresh green notes, gentle umami, natural sweetness and very low bitterness.
The finish is clean and cooling, making it ideal for iced matcha rituals and everyday drinking.
How It Compares
Compared to Uji no Mori, Okumidori feels brighter, lighter and more refreshing rather than deep and prestigious. Compared to Tenmyo, it is softer and cleaner rather than bold, aromatic and complex. Compared to Imperial First Harvest, it is umami-forward, with a smoother, more cooling finish that makes it especially beautiful over ice, as iced usucha or as a light iced latte.
Storage
Keep sealed and away from heat, moisture, and direct light. Refrigerate after the delivery for best colour and flavour retention.

Heapwell Okumidori ceremonial matcha is officially my favourite matcha!
Taste: 10 out of 10
Colour: 10 out of 10
Umami: 10 out of 10
Texture: 10 of 10 (it is quite creamy than other matcha's available which proves this one is stone ground)
Pricing: 10 out of 10
The only extra investment I would recommend is heapwell uji no mori matcha along with a matcha sift.
It is sooo delicious and smooth to drink. This is on par with their Tenmyo matcha but has completely different tasting notes. I use this okumidori matcha mainly for strong matcha lattes and Tenmyo for plain traditional usucha.
The flavour of this matcha is absolutely perfect. The colour was so good and it tasted so well balanced, smooth and creamy with just oat milk. I prefer Okumidori cultivar and this is the best okumidori matcha that I have ever tasted. Full 10 out of 10.
