Tenmyo Cultivar Lineage
Born from Asahi and Samidori cultivars that are renowned for smoothness and umami.
Your Guide to Tasting Tenmyo
Tenmyo is naturally sweet and elegant, with no trace of bitterness. Its light and airy body carries a gentle toasted chestnut note, finishing crisp and refreshing, a clean taste that lingers with sophistication.
Brewing Tenmyo vs. Other Matcha
-
Tenmyo isn’t meant to be diluted or masked.
Tenmyo is unlike standard ceremonial matcha. Traditionally used in koicha (thick tea) ceremonies in Japan, it is crafted to be enjoyed in a more concentrated form.
To unlock its natural sweetness, airy body, and refined chestnut notes, Tenmyo should be prepared with a double serving — 4–4.5 g per cup (about 1.5x more than usual ceremonial matcha).
-
Iced Matcha (Usucha):
Tenmyo is a delicate matcha crafted to shine in its purest forms.
Whisk 3g of Tenmyo with cool water and ice for a refreshing, light-bodied experience. -
Latte Style (Matcha Cortado)
Treat Tenmyo as you would a light-roasted specialty coffee. Prepare a double shot of matcha (4g), then add only a small amount of milk (half the amount you add in your usual matcha latte). This preserves its nuanced flavor while offering a creamy texture.
BORN FROM ASAHI & SAMIDORI
The best finest ceremonial matcha I’ve tried so far! Even just by opening the bag you are surrounded by a floral umami, delicious. I enjoyed every single sip and I can’t wait to rebuy it!
Taste,a bit floral but good 👍
So far I like this matcha. Taste good and nice colour
What a Matcha is this! Very, very good quality, smooth, rich and full of umami burst.
